EP 1 | What I Hate About Stretch & Flex - the neck pull

Nov 04, 2026

If your morning stretch-and-flex still opens with a passive neck pull, I implore you to take a second look. It's one of the more common "we've always done it this way" excuses that's actually working against you if you want to get your workforce ready for the day.

When the first move is a static pull on cold neck tissue, no warm-up, and half the crew still running on caffeine and nicotine, you're loading tissue that hasn't been prepped and NOT warming it up.

The fix is simple and takes less time: make it move (dynamic) with neck rolls, nods, slow turns. Active range of motion primes the tissue instead of stressing it, and it's what the injury-prevention research actually supports over passive stretching.

This is the first in a series I've been sitting on for a while. My main beef with traditional stretch & flex is that it's static and only part-by-part. I have many other things I hate about it that I will get to in this new video series, so if you're the one trying to get a stubborn crew to actually care about their bodies, this series is for you.

More fun on the way!
